Why Helmet Visors Fog
Helmet visor fogging occurs when warm air inside the helmet meets a cooler outer surface. This temperature difference causes moisture from breath and humidity to condense on the visor, reducing visibility.
Fogging is most common during:
- Cold weather riding

- Early morning or night rides
- Intense riding or racing

What Is the Pinlock® anti-fog technology?
The Pinlock® anti-fog technology is a secondary inner lens that attaches to the inside of a compatible helmet visor using two mounting pins.
The insert creates a sealed air pocket between the outer visor and the inner lens. This dual-pane construction helps reduce temperature differences across the visor surface, which is designed to minimize fog formation.
The system works similarly to double-pane insulation, helping maintain clearer vision across a wide range of riding conditions.
Anti-fog technology
A Pinlock® lens is made to enjoy a fog-free ride. It is based on two key principles to ensure a fog-free vision. The moisture absorbing surface of the lens effectively attracts and stores water molecules, while the airtight seal creates a thermal barrier together preventing condensation of the visor. The system is kept in place by positioning the lens between two adjustable pins, making Pinlock® the number one anti-fog solution for helmets.
Moisture absorbing nanotechnology
The moisture absorbing surface of the lens effectively attracts and stores water molecules. When the humidity drops to a lower level, the water molecules in the lens surface evaporate, leaving the Pinlock® lens ready for the next adventures.
Airtight chamber
The airtight seal creates an air pocket between the visor and the Pinlock® lens, and acts as a thermal barrier. Preventing the warm air from within the helmet to collide with the cold air from the outsideof the helmet.

The insert mounts directly to integrated visor pins without permanent modification, maintaining helmet fit and visor functionality.
